Wiki Notifier has over 550,000 worldwide Wikipedia/Wikivoyage geocoded places in its database. You can browse wiki places around your current location or around a selected location. You can also be notified when you are in range (proximity) of any place that is of the type specified by your selected place categories. Wiki Notifier includes a watch app extension. The watch extension displays the 15 closest places to you. Information displayed by the watch app includes the name and distance to the place, map, driving and walking directions, and the place category. Wiki Notifier may be used offline. While offline (out of cellular or wifi range), proximity notifications, wiki places, watch app, and offline stored maps are available. Driving/walking directions and full wiki article text are only available when connected to the Internet. Please note that the install takes approximately 4 minutes to complete. The majority of the time is spent decompressing the places database. You will notice the delay at the end of the install.
